I saw RENT today. Not the movie. But like the movie of the play, but not the movie movie. Yeah. I saw it with nsshere and Quest. Then Q-Dog left. And me and Erin went to Sharky's with her mom. Then to the Topenga Mall. And we went to the Apple Store. And we Facebook Chatted. While we were right next to each other. It was way more fun than it should've been. So yeah. It was fun.

The Dodgers' magic number for the playoffs is 1. The combination of Dodger wins and Arizona Diamondback losses has to add up to 1. Right now? The Diamondbacks are losing to the Cardinals 10-3, top of the eighth inning. You know what that means, right? It means that regardless of what happens tonight, if the Dodgers win or lose (probably win), they'll clinch the National League West Championship title. And ya'all know what that means? That means that the Dodgers have played over 25,000 minutes of regular-season baseball- and they'll be playing even more. And, I gotta say, it's plenty thanks to Manny Ramirez. In addition to his amazing abilities, he's re-pumped the team. Everyone is playing better. Everyone.

I'm excited. I know that the Dodgers will get to the playoffs. And I keep hoping and wishing that they'll get further than they did in 2004. In '04, they only played three games. Won 1, lost 2. I want them to do better this time. I want them to get deep into the playoffs. I know that it's too much to hope for World Series this season, but maybe in a couple years. Maybe next season, or the season after, we'll still have Manny and he'll take us to the World Series.

Drama

I didn't try out for the play. I have, however, decided that I will be a part of the stage crew. So yeah.

Oh, yeah, speaking of drama and theatre and the such- I saw 9 to 5: The Musical yesterday. It's basically the stage musical adaptation of the movie, Nine to Five. The musical starred Allison Janney, Megan Hilty, and Stephanie J. Block. It was absolutely amazing! The set was pretty cool. The two main pieces were double sided- one side of each part was the boss's office, while the other sides of the pieces formed the main office. They also made use of a trapdoor in the middle of the stage, out of which rose a bed, a copy machine, and the like. Oh, and Stephanie J. Block? AMAZING voice, absolutely amazing. After the show, I (as per usual) went around to the stage door. I met Megan Hilty and Stephanie J. Block (and have a pic of me with Megan on my Facebook), and had them sign my program. I also had some of the other people sign. I'm a bit embarrassed because I don't remember who they are.

So yeah! :P

School updates

01. The play we're doing is God's Favorite (are plays underlined?) by Neil Simon. There are 3-4 female parts and 4-5 male parts. I'm auditioning next week. I probably will not get it.

02. The club fair was yesterday and today. I signed up for Invisible Children. IC is a program that raises money to help African children who are being abducted and turned into child soldiers. the NCJHS chapter raises money for the program.

03. My classes are going pretty well. My only big problem is Geometry. And not because it's hard (at least, not yet). Because I'm one of three freshmen in a class of fourteen. Because today we spent a SEVENTY-FIVE minute period going over FIFTEEN questions. And the questions? They weren't even geometry. They were algebra. Things I'd learned in pre algebra. It frustrates me.

04. If you saw my Facebook status yesterday, you'll know that I'm in a bit of a dilemma. If you haven't seen it, here's the dealio- I am currently in yoga PE. I am slightly interested in joining the girl's cross country team. (Stop laughing.) Cross country practices Monday-Thursday, from 3-5 pm. Practices consist of running 4-6 miles (I think) in the hills around the NCJHS campus (aka Shomrei Torah Synagogue). That is the part that I am borderline on. But, then, I just found out that the season is only till the end of October. So not very long at all... Short, but intense, as the coach said.

05. This is an extension of #4. Deal with it. Anyway... if I join XC, I'll be leaving Amit. Amit is my yoga buddy. She's pretty awesome. That is all.

I was supposed to see 9-5: The Musical today, but... this weekend's shows were canceled. :(

On the bright side I'm done with all my homework. But tomorrow there'll be a whole new set of crap due on different days, so that'll be fun. xD

Me and Ben went to the Dodger game yesterday. It was a day game against Arizona, and we won, 7-2, so the Dodgers are now 1/2 a game ahead of Arizona and leading the NL West. If the Dodgers win today (current score is 2-2, top 3rd), we'll be 1 1/2 games ahead. I hope we win. :P

I went to the park last night to see The Lion King. Unfortunately, we missed the very beginning, which is my favorite part. Y'know, the whole "Circle of Liiiiiiife!" thing. It's like the best part of the whole freaking movie. And we missed it. Oh, well. I've been watching it on Youtube all morning, so I suppose I'll live.

We also just finished buying tickets for next season at the Pantages. We're doing the Flex plan, and I don't want to explain everything. Just that we have tickets for Rent, Fiddler on the Roof, the Phantom of the Opera, and Mamma Mia!. So, yeah. We also bought tickets to see Blood Brothers at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks. So I'm excited for all that.

I turned on the DS last night to play Animal Crossing for a few minutes, only to find that my ENTIRE game was erased. That means 3-plus months of playing, 3 characters (two of which aren't mine), and everything else I've done over the summer have been erased. The last save is from June 10, which doesn't help me at all. I'm really upset about it, too. It was literally all I played over the summer. And it just decided to go *poof* and disappear. *Curses Animal Crossing.*

We're going out to dinner tongiht for my birthday. To the Pizza Cookery. So I'm excited. I also need to think of something that I want for my bday, cos I really want to get something wrapped in shiny silver paper and tied with a big purple-and-green bow. {Don't ask,}

I think that's it. Probably. Mostly. If it isn't, I'll post again later. Maybe. If I feel like it. So yeah. xD

Warner Bros. just released a press statement informing us that the sixth Harry Potter film's release date is being pushed from November 22, 2008 to July 17, 2009. While I {sort of} understand their reasoning for doing this, it makes me sad. I was planning on taking my friend at midnight for her birthday. I'm very surprised at the number of comments on the Mugglenet post- nearly 500 in just a couple hours. What I really dislike about the comments is that most people didn't even read the release, they just saw the blurb on Mugglenet and got all pissed. *shakes head.* So, yeah. That's today's depressing Harry Potter news...
